Out of the many places I have shot weddings, The Glasbern Inn has to be the most beautiful of them all. Even though it rained, we managed to keep the smiles and laughter going all day.

Fall is great for its beautiful, warm colors. This day could not have been more beautiful. The colors popped, the air was clean, and the mood was uplifting. If there was ever a perfect day for an outdoor wedding, this was it. Lancaster County Winery provided many great locations for great photos. Jen and Mike are clearly in love, and I enjoyed being a part of their commitment to each other in front of their closest family and friends.
Thanks, you two, for an awesome set of photos, for you made the moments. I simply captured them.
Life. Captured.

This Saturday was a first for Double H. I have never shot a wedding that started at 7:45AM. I have never shot a Cambodian wedding. I have also never shot a Jewish wedding. And, of course I have NEVER experienced all of that in one day. I can’t tell you how cool it was. When I arrived at the Oum residence, it was already abuzz with close family helping to get every last detail ready. Kelleny’s father was helping the Cambodian minister prepare the “altar.” Cousins and Uncles prepared food, to be enjoyed all throughout the morning, an Kelleny and Ben got ready upstairs.
From Kelleny’s website: “ Cambodian (Khmer) weddings symbolize the beautiful legend of the origin of Cambodia and parallels the marriage of the first Khmer prince. A traditional Khmer wedding is one of the most joyous occasions for a Khmer family and typically lasts from 3 days to an entire week. It is a grand affair, full of color and festivity. Musicians play throughout the day on traditional instruments, and the couple is dressed like royalty.
Unlike most Western weddings, guests are usually highly animated during the ceremonies. You may stand up and leave the room if you need to stretch your legs. Guests move freely in and out during the ceremonies, which is not considered rude. Guests will be treated to a Southeast Asian buffet brunch served throughout the event.”
Just when you thought it was over, the Jewish wedding was starting its motor.
This is a only small selection of photos from throughout the day. I still have my second-shooter’s images to start sorting. Stop back for more.
Enjoy!

January 9, 2010, my little brother, “Uncle Dee bee,” aka Steve Hartman got hitched to Michelle, his longtime girlfriend from Florida. It was an incredible time indeed, like nothing else. People from up and down the east coast attended. Although it was too cold to have the ceremony on the beach, we did manage to get out and capture a few great moments in the cold, Daytona surf. It actually sleeted that day, go figure. Enjoy, and leave a comment.

If you are a true Lancaster native, chances are you have heard of DJ Freez. If you haven’t, you need to get your tail down to The Belvedere Inn on Thursday nights. Freez knows exactly what to play, and how to mix-mash-shred-tweak anything from the latest top 40 to knob-turning, lever-pulling Electro House (my favorite). I am highlighting Freez because he so graciously added me to his vendor links (and he even put me at the top, what a guy), and we go way back. I met Freez back in 1988, when he was still a fledgling DJ. We always talked music, and I often begged for a mix tape, I may even still have one. I hired him to spin my wedding, and he even came out for a breakdance session with me. I reccomend DJ Freez to anyone who wants to party down at their reception or function. I had the awesome opportunity to work with Freez on two occasions, and we are scheduled to work together in June. I hope we can continue to build as strong a working relationship as our friendship.
